Sometimes it can be overwhelming the amount of product we put on our face everyday. Day cream, night cream, under eye cream, sunscreen, foundation, acne treatments, masks etc. This honey night treatment for your face will give your skin a break from all of those chemicals, fragrances that will surely make your skin glow and rejoice!
Honey 101: Honey is a sweet food made by bees using nectar from flowers. In ancient times, honey was used as an ointment for rashes and burns and used to soothe sore throats. It was even used for embalming the dead, so this is pretty hardcore stuff! Honey is collected through bee keepers who process the honey and bottle it for personal use or distribution. It is important to note, that the PUREST honey comes from bees that are honey fed NOT sugar or high fructose fed and from bees who gather nectar from flowers NOT sprayed with pesticides. These factors can change the honey drastically! You can tell if your honey you bought is sugar fed because over time, the honey will start to crystalize. It's best to purchase honey at farmer's markets rather than a popular chain.
Recipe Ingredients:
raw honey
natural lotion/moisturizer
light oil like sweet almond oil, sunflower oil (extra virgin olive oil can be used)
In the palm of your hand add a SMALL amount of honey. TOO MUCH can make your face sticky and gross! Then add an equal amount of lotion/moisturizer and oil to your palm and mix together. If you feel you put too much honey, add more of the oil or lotion. Apply mixture to your clean face and neck by rubbing in a circular motion until satisfied. You should start to feel the honey tightening up your face like magic! Sleep with it on over night and rinse off in the morning.
xoxo
