Yes. Exercising is tough. Here are six ways that I am trying to get back into that size 4 dress I own:
1) Riding My Bicycle
I LOVE riding my bike and when you make it a habit, you get a ton of exericise especially in your quads. To make riding more enjoyable, I purchased a cute bicycle, a Huffy Cranbrook Cruiser in mint green. Then I select an adorable but comfortable outfit to wear while on it so I can achieve the "look how cute I am!" effect on whoever sees me.
2) Jumping Rope
Jumping rope is such a great way to lose weight and strengthen your calves. I bought mine at Walmart for about three dollars. One way to keep yourself going for a long time jumping, is to pick a song with a beat that is the same as each time you jump. My current song I jump to is "Glad You Came" by The Wanted.
3) Green Smoothies (see last post)
Instead of eating a Hot Pocket, Top Ramen, or half of that super burrito from the night before for lunch, blend up a smoothie with greens being the main ingredient. You will be full and receive a crazy amount of nutrition.
4) 5lb Weights
This babies come in handy when doing a number of arm exercises. I purchased mine at Walmart for fairly cheap and I have been making use of them ever since. You might think 5lbs might be too light at first but with the repetition of movement, you will
definitely feel it.
5) Kettlebell
My first impression of a kettleball was that it looked kinda dumb and wouldn't do anything for me. Boy, I was wrong! It is a whole body workout that will leave you sweating and heaving in no time, the opposite of what I was expecting. The great thing about the one I purchased at Target, is that it came with an instructional DVD on how to use it. I recommend getting a 10lb one because I bought the 15lb and it is WAY too much for me.
6) Ballet Exercises
Now if you REALLY want a workout, ballet is where it's at. I remember just wanting to fall over after every class! Through my experience, I have a ton of knowledge from our warm up exercises and some pilates we used to do each session. From abs to glut crunches to tricep dips to hamstring stretches, I have now incorporated those into my fitness regimen.
Happy Exercising!
