Parties. Weddings. Graduations. Picture Day. Reunions. These are ALL events where cameras will be snapping away to capture moments that EVERYONE usual sees.
You have two options:
a) To be ULTRA GLAM in every photo OR b) To be a HOT MESS that nobody wants their picture with
Here are 3 Tips that with preparation, can help you be photo-ready and look fabulous:
1) Keep It Matte!
For glamorous photos, your makeup should be as matte as possible to avoid looking shiny and over-highlighted. Bring out your matte pink lipstick, pressed powder and leave your shimmers at home! The more dewy and glowy your makeup is, the more reflective it will look in pictures which can be a BIG no no! Be careful with setting sprays as well because they usually add a layer of shine to your makeup.
2) Low SPF!
BEWARE! Certain beauty products that contain a high SPF can emit a white cast in photos especially when flash is used! So unless you're going for that ghost look, pay attention to the amount of SPF contained in any foundations you plan to wear. It's best to avoid BB creams in general because they usually contain SPF 15 or higher.
3) Long-wear Products!
The worst thing is having to touch up your makeup every 5 seconds especially when you are somewhere where you are getting photos taken quite frequently. For great pictures, wear makeup products that last! You don't want splotchy foundation or flaky mascara. Products are usually labeled if they are long-wear but if you can't find any you prefer, waterproof makeup works just as well. We don't want the makeup to move or melt off or you will be the definition of the term 'HOT MESS'!
Don't be camera shy! Strike your pose and CARPE DIEM! xoxo
